Andreas is managing partner of VON ZADOW INTERNATIONAL. In 1986 he completed his Master of Arts in Communication Science at the Berlin Institute of Technology and has since then continuously been engaged in developmental projects with an emphasis on urban place-making processes.
He draws his experience from various working experiences, such as a 5-year employment at the City of Berlin’s Senate Department for Urban Development, as well from his active social involvement in Berlin’s urban renewal. He was vice president in the founding years of the European Academy of the Urban Environment (EA.UE) in 1991-1993. Since then he became self-employed and is initiating, managing and facilitating change projects in Germany and internationally.
For more than 30 years, Andreas has collaborated with John Thompson & Partners (London, Edinburgh, Shanghai) a leading practice in place-making and community planning. He has gained experience on several large-scale master-planning projects in India and China including Liubu, Xinyang, Dianshan and Hainan, as well as numerous European cities, mainly in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Russia and certainly Germany. His experiences also include consulting and facilitating a number of EU funded projects and participatory processes.
As a facilitator, Andreas specializes in increasing project efficiency in terms of participants, sequence of actions, politics, a consensus led strategy and getting tangible outputs at each individual event. With his strategic understanding he is using graphic design and visualisations a lot in order to cut long stories short and to communicate developmental objectives.
Andreas has been trained in organisational development by the NPI-Institute in Zeist (NL). He has had further training in coaching skills and is a member of the Association of Social Development (ASD), a worldwide professional network of consultants for organisational and personal development.

Andreas von Zadow ist Gesellschafter und Geschäftsführer des Büros VON ZADOW INTERNATIONAL. Kommunikation ist nach seinem Verständnis ein zentraler Bestandteil integraler Veränderungsprozesse. Sowohl innerhalb von Organisationen als auch unter Multi-Stakeholder-Bedingungen hat er seit über 30 Jahren Erfahrungen mit aktivierenden Settings, Beteiligungsangeboten und Partizipationsverfahren. Ein Schwerpunkt seiner Tätigkeiten ist die Stadtentwicklung.
Andreas von Zadow studierte Kommunikationswissenschaft (Abschluss TU-Berlin 1986), war 5 Jahre lang Mitarbeiter der Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umweltschutz, anschließend Mitbegründer und stellvertretender Leiter der Europäischen Akademie für städtische Umwelt in Berlin. Seit 1995 arbeitet er international selbstständig als Initiator, Manager und Moderator von Veränderungsprojekten und Großgruppenverfahren für private und öffentliche Auftraggeber.
Durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Büro John Thompson & Partners (London, Edinburgh, Shanghai) hat Andreas von Zadow große Erfahrung mit interaktiven Entwicklungsprozessen im In- und Ausland. Dazu zählen auch großmaßstäbliche Projekte in Indien und China wie z. B. Liubu, Xinyang, Dianshan and Hainan, als auch an zahlreichen europäischen Orten in England, Irland, Skandinavien, Russland, den Niederlanden und natürlich Deutschland.
Hinzu kommen Tätigkeiten als Moderator und Berater in EU-Projekten und verschiedensten Beteiligungsprozessen. Das Verfahren der Perspektivenwerkstatt wurde durch Andreas von Zadow als eigenständiges Partizipationsverfahren in Deutschland eingeführt. Seine Spezialität ist eine präzise Verfahrensgestaltung mit Blick auf Teilnehmer-Auswahl, Zielklärung, Ergebnissicherung und ein maßgeschneiderter Verlauf jeder einzelnen Veranstaltung. Er ist als OE-Berater und Coach in Unternehmen, Stadtverwaltungen und NGOs tätig.
Seine Ausbildung in Organisationsentwicklung erhielt Andreas von Zadow durch das niederländische NPI-Institut in Zeist. Fortbildungen umfassen Coaching Skills, Embodied Life mit Presencing & Focussing, Collaborative Planning und Design Thinking. Er ist Mitglied in der Association for Social Development (ASD), einem weltumspannenden Verband von Organisations- und Personalentwicklern.
