NCI Charrette-Training – A unique offer from the USA!

The NCI’s primary focus is on educating others to bring transformative collaboration to any strategic design effort! Holly Madil, AICP (Director of NCI)

The Charrette methodology is a an astonishingly powerfull quick hands-on approach to achieve more inclusive, holistic and resilient planning results. It is widely applied in UK and USA, but far too little used in Germany. VON ZADOW INTERNATIONAL has therefore invited 2 trainers from the National Charrette Institute (NCI) to offer their original 3-day training cours in Berlin.

This training is for anyone involved in creating sustainable places and transforming organizations by collaborative planning and citizen participation, including city and regional planners, elected and appointed local officials, staff of municipalities and planning authorities, developers, architects, landscape planners, urban designers, transportation planning consultants, process designers, facilitators, nonprofit organizational members and citizen advocates.

The NCI trainings consistently attract top practitioners in the field from across the U.S. and abroad. Based on past evaluations, 95% of participants report that they regularly apply what they learned in NCI certificate trainings to their daily practice. The Charrette methodology is closely related to the Perspektivenwerkstatt and Community Planning. As cooperation partners two leading German institutions, The Berlin Institue for Partiticpation and the Cologne Academy Democracy International, are promoting this expectional training opportunity amongst their members and networks.
